We have so much family travel this year that we decided to open up the house for off season. We usually keep the hot tub just for us when summer is over but from now until around March we’ll have the hot tub open for guests. Also dropped rates 65% compared to summer. We’re renting to local friends for free with just the cost of the house clean & hot tub clean. Reach out if you want to stay!

Finished this months ago but just posting! The main floor bathroom was the only room we had left to gut and redo…

This was the original shower tub unit. Beautiful I know…

Tile and wallpaper was fun. Took some risks on color and maybe made this a little wild but we like it…

Did some custom board and batten to coordinate with the upstairs bathroom but totally different color palette…

Tried some different edge detail in the niche. 4th tile job getting better every time…

Used a slightly smaller vanity in this one since it’s a few inches smaller than the upstairs bathroom…

We did a minor cosmetic upgrade when we bought the house but ran out of money and time before we could completely redo it all…

It was fine but we were excited to finally tear everything out and redo it…

So much better…

Definitely an upgrade from the original…

Floor has the same hex tile as upstairs bath but different colors and we used a different pattern for this one…

When we bought we just covered the original tile with vinyl squares. Holdover but happy to be rid of it!

So satisfying to have the final room done!

For the first time, we’re going to be open for rental during the off-season September to May and we’re sharing the hot tub during these months. Two day minimum stay.

Bathroom project coming along! Floor tile down and grouted. Board and batten up and painted. Shower tile back wall up. Preview of wallpaper that will be above the board and batten. Plan to finish the tile and hang wallpaper next time out!

Downstairs bathroom demo’d, bathtub in thanks to a creative drain solution by 🙏, dry fit floor tile ready to go in the next time we’re out!

Pool is open! New stairs and liner installed by Celestial. Gave up on finishing the deck myself and had all new CoolDeck installed by 🤩

Making progress! Old pool liner out, some base repair. Deck all framed and ledger going up. Trying to get all joists in this week!

Always plenty of surprises. Never assume you’ll just replace deck boards 😆 Almost no blocking anywhere even at the frame. Single maybe half inch bolts on every post. Half to three quarter inch gaps at the end of most joists. Knew we needed to add joists anyway to support composite and should have just assumed it would basically be a rebuild. Have to raise the surface a half inch anyway since we’re replacing 2x6 with ~1” composite boards to stay lined up with the top of the pool frame. Was hoping I could sister and add in between but think I’ll just redo all the joists from scratch 😳 Excited for this transformation and doing lots of research to find the coolest composite possible for the decking.

Fence coming down to open up to our big back yard project for this off-season. Pool deck and liner getting replaced. New sitting areas and all new fence around pool and side yard.
