Magnolia Cottage

Magnolia Cottage Southern B&B located in the heart of downtown Natchez. Call to make reservation. 601-807-5260 Step It is considered as one of Natchez's important Landmarks.

Magnolia Cottage, located at 35 Homochitto Street, was built around 1831. Executive Director of the Natchez Historic Foundation travels around the country and lectures on the broad range of Natchez's architecture. He mentions Magnolia Cottage is a prime example of the integrated architecture. The front porch is almost like a room with its three sides, space for door and glass transom. Magnolia Cottage has it's own dairy in the basement of the house.

If these old walls could talk…

We moved a few things around downstairs at Magnolia Cottage, and I think we may have created our new favorite spot.

Behind those old French blue shutters is the first room of this house—the original kitchen and home of the family who lived here more than 200 years ago. Just think about that for a minute.

Today, this cool little corner of the first floor has become the loveliest place to sit. Morning coffee. A stack of magazines. A little conversation. Maybe something cold to sip at the end of the day.

Nothing too perfect. Nothing too new. Just wicker rockers, old brick, blue and white, things collected over time…and a whole lot of history.

At Magnolia Cottage, sometimes the best rooms aren’t really rooms at all.

And we have a feeling this is where you’ll want to begin—and end—your day.

Some people want a hotel room. You want a story. 🗝️

You want original floors beneath your feet.

Windows that have watched nearly two centuries pass by.

Antiques that belong in the room — not because someone was trying to create a “vintage aesthetic,” but because history actually lives here.

Welcome to Magnolia Cottage.

Built circa 1831, our little Greek Revival cottage gives you the romance of historic Natchez with the personal touches that turn a weekend away into something you remember long after you’ve unpacked your suitcase.

And the best part?

Step outside and you’re in one of the South’s most beautiful historic destinations, with mansions, restaurants, shopping, events including little maypole and the Mississippi River waiting to be explored.

Would you rather spend your Natchez afternoon touring historic homes 🏛️ or sitting on the porch doing absolutely nothing? 🥂

We’re voting porch. 😉

Great tour you must see! Make reservations at Magnolia Cottage B&B enjoy your hot breakfast and take a quick drive across the river to Frogmore Plantation

🌱 Out near Ferriday in Concordia Parish, along the flat cotton country of northeast Louisiana, sits a working piece of living history called Frogmore. It is a real cotton plantation, still farming thousands of acres today, but it has also preserved the old world right alongside the new.

Visitors can walk among more than a dozen restored 1800s buildings, see a rare steam-powered gin, and then step across to watch a modern computerized gin run during harvest season. 🌾 It is a rare chance to stand in one spot and see how cotton shaped this land across two full centuries, the hard labor, the machinery, and the lives lived in the shadow of the fields.

Louisiana history is not all bayous and Bourbon Street. Up in the cotton country there are stories just as deep, waiting quietly for anyone willing to go looking. 🚜

There’s just something about fresh flowers waiting for you when you arrive. 🌸

These gorgeous zinnias were picked straight from the garden at Magnolia Cottage—because around here, hospitality is found in the little details.

When our guests arrive, they don’t just check into a room. They step into their very own cottage, where fresh garden flowers and homemade pralines are waiting to welcome them. 💐

It’s personal. It’s peaceful. It’s a little old-fashioned in the very best way.
Come experience a stay where Southern hospitality still means something.

One of my favorite things about Natchez isn’t just its beautiful homes or historic charm—it’s the people.

This weekend, I stopped by A Gallerie Boutique to celebrate our dear friend, Robin Hickman Hebert on becoming the new co-owner. Our family has known Robin for years, and we’ve loved watching her help so many people discover their personal style. Seeing her take this exciting next step is such a joy!

What made the day even more special was watching friends and neighbors fill the store to support a local small business. That’s what makes this town so unique.

If you’re planning a visit during Fall Pilgrimage, make time to wander downtown. You’ll discover beautiful boutiques, talented shop owners, and the warm Southern hospitality that makes Natchez unforgettable.

Congratulations, Robin and team of A Gallerie. We couldn’t be happier for you!
