Join us this October for historic trains beginning Thursday, Oct. 15, and every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the rest of the month. The trains on the 17th and 18th will be steam-powered. Our vintage diesel locomotives will pull the rest of the weekend trains and all of the weekday trains.
One train will depart Nelsonville on Thursdays and Fridays at 1:00 and two will depart on Saturdays and Sundays at noon and 2:30. The 1:00 weekday trains and the noon weekend trains will last about one hour and 45 minutes. The 2:30 weekend trains will last about two hours and 15 minutes. Reservations are encouraged.
Step back in time as you take a historic train ride along a route dating back to the late 1860s. You will see old brick kilns, a canal lock, the Hocking River, and more. Our Saturday and Sunday trains will also include a 30-minute stop at Robbins Crossing, a re-created pioneer village on the campus of Hocking College with original log cabins. The weekday trains will not include a stop at Robbins Crossing.
For the weekday and 2:30 trains, tickets are $13 for children, $16 for seniors/military, and $18 for adults. For the noon trains, tickets are $11 for children, $14 for seniors/military, and $16 for adults. Children under three ride for free, but they must sit on a lap.
