Can true luxury exist without environmental compromise? Hotel Marcel was built to prove it can. We’re thrilled to share Peter Candia’s review in New Jersey Digest, where he explores how thoughtful architecture and zero-emission operations come together in New Haven.

When transforming Marcel Breuer’s iconic 1968 Brutalist landmark into America’s first zero-emission, Passive House-certified hotel, the goal was clear: redefine green hospitality. Sustainable travel shouldn't mean lower expectations, rough linens, or stripped-back comfort.

Hotel Marcel is America's first zero-emission, Passive House-certified hotel, housed in Marcel Breuer's iconic 1968 Brutalist building.
