Over a century ago, this nine story property was not the NOPSI Hotel. It was the headquarters of New Orleans Public Service Inc.

Built during the Roaring Twenties, this building ran the city. The people who kept the lights on, the streetcars moving, and public services running built something meant to last. Today the building is NOPSI Hotel, where we welcome guests from all over the world to explore New Orleans, with all the Jazz Age style intact and just a few more modern comforts.

Before there was a Ramos Gin Fizz on nearly every cocktail menu in New Orleans, there was one man behind the bar perfecting it.

Henry C. Ramos invented his now iconic gin fizz in the late 1880s, shaken by hand for a full twelve minutes by a line of bartenders known as the “shaker boys”. That same devotion to the craft lives on at Henry's Gin Bar in the NOPSI, a gin focused bar pouring over 50 selections from around the world.
