Yay!

It's still snowing! We currently have 6" in Gardiner, 8" at Minnewaska State Park Preserve. The grooming crew at Minnewaska has been out since 2am! They will be open for skiing today (though they believe conditions will be better tomorrow after it freezes overnight).

Please - watch out for 'Poor Ski Conditions' Zones! There is a film shoot in progress at the park, so a couple of areas are experiencing foot traffic.

Pink Lady Slippers

This beautiful wildflower is one of the most recognizable native orchids. With its eye-catching showy flower and distinctive leaves, the pink lady's slipper (Cypripedium acaule) is a sight to behold. The name acaule means 'stemless' in Latin, and refers to the plants leafless flowering stem. Keep an eye out for these pink beauties in the forest understory!📸 Keith Ramos/USFWS
