Wow…what an amazing way to kick off steelhead season. The last few weeks we’ve been getting a few here and there, but this week we focused on them a bit more and it paid off. The trout and salmon fishing was pretty darn good too.
Thank you to Warriors & Quiet Waters for sending us another group of Veterans. It has been a lot of fun working with you guys! Here’s to many more adventures together.

What a great week at Oak Heart Lodge. We welcomed back our friends from Warriors & Quiet Waters. The weather was amazing and the fishing was too. Good to see the colors changing in the trees and rivers. Steelhead season is kicking off a bit early.

Well, it’s a bit like Groundhog Day around here. Another amazing week of Veterans, friendships, food and of course fishing! It is starting to look and feel like fall in Northern Michigan. The leaves on the trees are turning beautiful colors and the mornings are brisk. Salmon fishing (we still have lots of other fish too) is in full swing, we are so lucky to have this to share!!!

Another amazing week spent with amazing guests and the fishing…well that was amazing too! The Fun-O-Meter was pegged at a solid 10 all week long. So many laughs, so many stories…thank you to all of the Veterans that made this past week at Oak Heart so much fun. Ohh and the recon mission to Location X (IYKYK) was a huge success.

So our last week of PGA Hope was a success. It has been a real pleasure hosting golfers at Oak Heart Lodge.
We are switching back to fishing, but we are already thinking of the 2027 season.
Thanks to all who participated.
