Originally from Alabama, Barry brings years of musical experience and a great mix of country, rock, roots, and blues. As the former lead singer and primary songwriter for The Mutt Brothers Blues Band, Barry has performed alongside artists including Foghat, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Diamond Rio, and Mark Chesnutt.

On the second anniversary of Hurricane Helene, there are still so many emotions and memories that come with this time of year. September 27th, 2024 changed our lives in ways that are difficult to put into words.

For us, the memories are both heartbreaking and humbling. We remember the devastation, the uncertainty, the days without communication, the roads that were impassable, and the fear of not knowing what would come next. We remember the people who lost so much, the neighbors who needed help, and the incredible strength of a community that refused to give up.

But we also remember the kindness. The volunteers, the relief workers, the donations, the helping hands, and the people who showed up when it mattered most. We remember the guests who supported us when we needed it, and the friendships that grew out of some of the hardest days of our lives.

Two years later, healing is still happening. Some days are easier than others, and certain memories still bring tears. But we are also reminded of how far we have come, how much we have rebuilt, and how much beauty and life continue to grow here.

To everyone who stood beside us, supported Plumtree, helped our community, or simply checked on us during those difficult days — Thank You. We will never forget it.

Meet Trout — Plumtree Campground & Retreat’s resident feline. She’s a little independent, a little curious, and always keeping an eye on things around camp. You might find her strolling around, lounging in the sunshine, or quietly checking out what our guests are up to.

She’s become part of the Plumtree family and loves welcoming campers (on her own terms, of course 😉).

Next time you’re visiting, keep an eye out and see if you can spot our furry campground ambassador! 🐈🌲

🐾 BIG NEWS at Plumtree Campground & Retreat! 🐾

One of the most requested amenities from our amazing guests is finally becoming a reality — a dedicated DOG PARK! 🎉

We're excited to announce that we're repurposing our greenhouse into a fun new space where our four-legged campers can stretch their legs, make new friends, and enjoy some off-leash playtime.

🐶 Separate areas for large and small dogs
🐾 Safe, enclosed play spaces with a shade tarp
🌄 Picnic tables will be added for guests to hang out while the pups play the day away
🌲 A unique addition to make camping even more enjoyable for the whole family

Of course, no dog park announcement would be complete without our official "Camp Dog" and model extraordinaire, Stella! ❤️ Stella has already given her tail-wagging approval and can't wait to welcome all her furry friends.

We love listening to our guests and are always looking for ways to make your stay even better. Stay tuned for progress updates as we put the finishing touches on this exciting new addition!

We’re excited to announce that the remodel of our “Little Green Bathhouse” is officially complete! 🎉

What was once one of the oldest and most outdated bathhouses in the park has been completely transformed into a fresh, modern, and comfortable space for our guests to enjoy. While the renovation took a little longer than expected, it was absolutely worth the wait.

This double bathhouse now features:
✨ Spacious walk-in showers
✨ Built-in benches
✨ Large vanities with granite countertops
✨ Towel hooks
✨ Durable composite flooring
✨ Beautiful beadboard walls

We hope these upgrades make your stay at our park even more enjoyable and comfortable. We’d love to hear what you think the next time you visit!
