When Bob and I started The Good Ol’ Days House, we weren’t just creating a place to stay. We wanted people to step back in time, remember simpler days, and make a few new memories along the way.

These Southern boys are in a band and are making an appearance nearby here in Southwestern PA. How fun is that?

At The Good Ol’ Days House, we celebrate the days of big bangs, bigger glasses, Aqua Net clouds, cassette tapes, rotary phones, and moms yelling, “Don’t make me come in there!”

🎬 LIGHTS… CAMERA… DOG ACTION! 🐶🎥

If you’ve driven by lately and wondered what in the world is going on at the Good Ol’ Days House and Happy Days Hideaway, you’re not alone!

Yesterday our guests checked out, and before the beds could even cool down, a film crew moved in and worked through the day and into the night creating their latest movie masterpiece. And yes… one of the stars is an absolutely adorable dog who may have a brighter future in Hollywood than the rest of us! 🐾⭐

This isn’t our first trip down the red carpet.

Over the years, both houses have served as filming locations for projects involving talented students from Point Park University and Douglas Education Center. We were also honored to be featured in Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania’s “Greatest Generation” television commercial, which earned a Telly Award and aired from 2016 through 2020.

I guess there must be something about stepping through our front door that makes directors think they’ve traveled back in time!

From family vacations and reunions to television commercials, student films, and now another movie production, these houses have become more than vacation rentals—they’ve become part of some pretty special stories.

Who knows? Maybe the next time you stay at the Good Ol’ Days House or Happy Days Hideaway, you’ll be sleeping in the same room where a future movie star (or a very talented dog) filmed a scene. 🎬🐶

Until then, we’ll just keep waiting for our call from Hollywood. 😄

It’s going to be a busy and blessed weekend at both “The Happy Days Hideaway” and KDKA’s “Cool House” — The Good Ol’ Days House in Belle Vernon — as guests arrive looking for something simple that’s getting harder to find these days… peace, laughter, nostalgia, and a good old fashioned getaway. ❤️

From porch sitting and old memories to family time and small-town charm, we’re thankful so many people continue to choose our little corner of the Mon Valley to slow down and enjoy life again.

Sometimes the best vacations aren’t fancy at all… they’re the ones that simply feel like home. 🇺🇸
