Family Fun Day is Sunday, August 23!

Join us Sunday, August 23, from 12:30–3:30 pm at Bravo Zulu Lakeside Bar for an afternoon of food, fun, and community, all in support of the North Hero Volunteer Fire Department. Bring the kids down to the lake for an afternoon with the trucks — they'll get to climb aboard real fire trucks, meet the firefighters who protect our community, and thank them in person. Every child will go home with a souvenir.

North Hero's firefighters are in the middle of building a brand new fire station. Their old building, shared with the town's public works department for more than 50 years, had become too small and outdated for the vehicles that today's fire crews rely on. Construction is underway now, with a move-in targeted for this fall.

North Hero's fire department provides critical, life-saving emergency response to our community, and every one of them does it as a volunteer, saving local taxpayers dollars in the process.

For the past several years, Shore Acres has supported NHVFD through our First Responders Table program. And even if you can't make it on Sunday, you can book the table any time to help support them. Call us at (802) 372-8722 to reserve.

Meet Pamela Roberts, the Shore Acres Inn and Restaurant and Bravo Zulu Lakeside Bar General Manager! Pamela has been a part of the Shore Acres family on and off for the better part of the last 20-plus years. There is no one on the property who knows it better! In fact, Pamela and her husband Derek, got married here 34 years ago and their daughter Madison had her first job in housekeeping.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Pamela has worked most of her adult life in the hospitality industry. Starting in Scotland in her uncle’s pub pulling pints, she moved on to bartending in Montreal, waitressing and the front desk at Shore Acres, teaching culinary math at the New England Culinary Institute (NECI), managing the office at Hero’s Welcome, to finally taking over as general manager at Shore Acres 2 years ago. As the general manager, Pamela sets the tone for the customer service ethos of our staff.

Pamela’s extensive experience and charm make her a guest favorite. Next time you are at Shore Acres or Bravo Zulu, be sure to say hello or bonjour to Pamela, she loves to chat with guests.
