Dear Northport Cottage lovers:

There is much news to report about the Northport Cottage since you visited last:

1. In November, Michael Jay Steinberg and his wife, Carole, sold the cottage. As sad as it was to give up a home they had cherished for the past 30 years, they took solace in the fact that the cottage was going to remain in the “family.” They sold it to a younger friend who, remarkably, is also named “Michael Jay Steinberg” -- along with younger Michael’s wife and another couple. The improbable story of how the two Michaels met and became friends is the subject of a Moth story. (See video here: tinyurl.com/MJSMothStory.)

2. The new owners are going to continue to rent the cottage for select weeks through their newly formed company, Namesake Property, LLC. We will soon announce the weeks that the cottage is available for rent.

3. We have been remodeling the cottage. The cottage now has a new kitchen and dishwasher, and new wood floors throughout the first floor. All the beds in the house have new, very comfortable mattresses. More improvements are planned; stay tuned!
