JUNE 16, 2026 • MEDALLION FOUND!

The HUNT has been WON! Congratulations to Dawn Johnson and friends on winning the 2026 Oak Island Medallion Hunt, when earlier they located the Medallion in Bill Smith Park, at 4410 Fish Factory Road!

This group of treasure hunters has been participating since the very beginning, sharing in all of the puzzles and plot twists along the way. They mentioned this year was particularly fun, as some of the puzzles were especially challenging, leading to even more fun of the clues hidden inside the local businesses!

WHY WE CONTINUE TO SERVE

For Blue Star Mothers, service does not end when our son or daughter raises their right hand. It becomes part of who we are.

We continue to serve because we understand the sacrifices made by military families. We know the pride, the worry, the joy of a phone call home, and the strength it takes to support a loved one in uniform.

Through volunteerism, Blue Star Mothers support active-duty service members, veterans, military families, and the families of our Fallen Heroes. Whether assembling care packages, supporting local veterans, honoring military graduates, or serving our communities, every act of kindness makes a difference.

We volunteer because we care.
We serve because we understand.
We continue because our mission matters.

Together, we are making a positive impact in the lives of those who serve our nation.

Remember Everyone Deployed

Today, we honor two groups whose service and sacrifice strengthen our nation every day: our women veterans and our deployed service members.

Women have served our country with courage, dedication, and determination throughout our nation's history. From times of war to times of peace, women veterans have answered the call to serve, breaking barriers and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

As we recognize Women Veterans Day, we thank the women who have worn our nation's uniform and continue to inspire through their service and leadership.

On this RED Friday, we also remember the brave men and women currently deployed around the world. While many of us go about our daily routines, they stand watch far from home, protecting the freedoms we cherish.

Today we honor their commitment, remember the families awaiting their safe return, and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

To all women veterans, thank you for your service.

To all deployed service members, thank you for your sacrifice.

Until they all come home.
