Garrett County is filled with the greatest people and businesses! You don't have to take our word for it, check out this message we received a while back about some local businesses and people stepping up to the plate to leave a lasting impression with one of our visitors. "I posted this on my page so I could let everyone see what a nice town you have. I wanted to share with you. You have a lot of very nice people and businesses in your area. We live about 3.5 hours away but will definitely return.
Vacation was great, ending not so. Still trying to get home, but I want to thank all the people that have been so nice during the last stretch. Broke down in Garrett, Maryland. Car actually died in the Walmart auto care parking lot. The guys there were super nice, found out my serpentine belt shredded and they couldn't repair it. Unfortunately being as it was Sunday everyone was closed. Mikes towing was there in 10 minutes and towed it to nearby repair shop.
Dean and yogi bear from Deep Creek Shuttle came and drove us to The Garrett Inn, a great little mom and pop rustic hotel. Had dinner across the road at Average Joe's Tavern, very good Chicken Philly with a boozy banana slushy. Lottie our waitress was great. Walked to Little Sandy's Diner for a nice breakfast, and then off to Zip’eez mini mart also across the road where I found banana pudding moonshine (thank you Big Tom). Hotel is letting us stay until my knight in shining armor will arrive on his white and orange roll back to tow us all home."
