Strong signal around mid-month for a strong heat ridge and possibly an associated thermal trough to bring intense heat to the PNW, extending down across California, into the Desert Southwest! It appears about a week-long heatwave could develop across the region bringing dangerous heat with 2-3 days of extreme heat possible. It’s too early to know exactly how hot it will get - although 90s and 100s are increasingly likely as far north as Oregon, Idaho and Washington - but go ahead and begin preparing for summer temperatures, especially for those without A/C. The CPC is on board and increasing the extreme heat risk for the region from June 15-18🥵
