Lockheart Gables is so excited to announce that we are moving our entire operation to Oklahoma City!!! The current building on Locke Street has been purchased by a local company who is VERY historic minded. They intend to restore this place as closely as possible to its original glory!!! It will be used as their offices.
Our B&B name, website and page will remain Lockheart Gables Romantic B&B. There will obviously be a new phone number, which will be posted when available.
The Fort Worth location has officially stopped taking reservations. The Oklahoma City location will be several months in the development, so it will be a while before we can again accept reservations, but you will be notified FOR SURE as soon as we are up and running in our new location. The great news for you is that your Returning Guest special rate will be carried forward to our new location!
For those still looking for a piece of Lockheart history, we still have a few of the heart tubs for sale. The exclusive price for our special friends is only $300 ($500 for public). Let us know if you want one. There will be new heart tubs in OKC!!
WHY are we moving? Many reasons. First and foremost, God is calling us back to OKC (where we are from originally). So many doors have been opened that only God could open! Secondly, we will again be near our kids and grandkids (have already enjoyed several family game nights!) 🥰, who will actually be helping us in the new location. We will finally be able to have the family business we have always wanted. Third, opportunity for growth! We were landlocked in Fort Worth, with no room for expansion. Yes, we will be leaving our super cool historic building and will miss its rich history. But what we are gaining far exceeds what we have up.
WHAT will things be like in OKC? AWESOME!!! If you have a particular suite you have always loved when you are our guest, you will find much the same suite at the new location. One big difference, where we had two cottages in Ft. Worth (Sweetheart and Beloved), we will eventually have 10 cottages, PLUS the rooms inside the all new B&B, which will still have an historic look and vibe.
Our wedding business will grow exponentially! It will continue to be a comprehensive package, as always, but now with a choice of venues and options! There will be a HUGE and beautiful indoor 200-seat Wedding Chapel, complete with bridal and groom ready suites, as well as a 200-seat reception room with dance floor and wet bar. There will also be a red barn venue for those desiring a more casual and rustic wedding venue, which will also be equipped with bridal and groom ready suites. Both venues will double as event centers. A beautiful garden venue, complete with lighted gazebo, will be available for nature lovers. All venues will be available to be booked for events, meetings, celebrations and special occasions. Whatever venue is chosen, catering will now be available from our commercial kitchen!!
For the first time, we will be able to have a TEA ROOM!!!! It will feature daytime cafe, as well as a bakery with all of the yummy baked goods you have experienced. It will also be a great venue for tea parties, bridal showers, baby showers, red hat gatherings, and many other gatherings. It will showcase our signature teas, as well as a wide variety of other seasonal offerings. It will double as a local cafe, featuring some of our signature breakfasts and lunches. It will also house our first ever bakery, where we will finally be able to sell our cinnamon rolls, ginger cookies, banana bread and many other goodies that guests have requested over the years.
These are vey exciting times! Lots of great things in store for you, our beloved guests. We will keep you updated with progress and look forward to seeing you as soon as possible in OKLAHOMA!
