Bark of the Town lost one of the biggest personalities in our daycare family today. September 4th, 2026 will forever be the day we lost Barney.

We had the privilege of caring for Barney almost every single day for the past two years. He was such a good boy, even when he was being ornery. He loved every member of our staff and would accept butt scratches from anyone he could convince, sometimes even the play toys. His favorite handler, though, was Olivia, and she would tell you the feeling was very mutual.

Barney was so much more than a dog who came to daycare. He was part of our routine, part of our days, and part of our little Bark of the Town family. He was one of those dogs you just expected to see walking through the door, and it is incredibly hard knowing we won’t get to see him do that again.

We really do love your dogs like our own. We build relationships with them, learn all of their little quirks, celebrate them, worry about them, and love them. That is the best part of what we do, but on days like today, it is also the hardest.

We love you, Barney. Thank you for letting us be part of your life. You were such a good boy, and you will be missed more than you could ever know. 🤍

It is Sammy’s 3rd birthday, and we have had the honor of being a part of every single one of them so far. It has been so fun watching you grow from your lanky puppy days to the sweet, silly girl you are now! Cheers to many more years of play!
