🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️ Reminder: IRONMAN 70.3 Omaha at Lake Cunningham This Weekend

Lake Cunningham is excited to host IRONMAN 70.3 Omaha on June 6–7, 2026, welcoming approximately 2,200 athletes to the park for the swim and bike portions of the event.

Please be aware of the following traffic and access updates:

Entrance 1 | 8965 State Street will be closed:
• Saturday, June 6: 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Boaters and marina slip holders will still have access.
• Sunday, June 7: Closed until approximately 1:00 PM

All other park users should use one of Lake Cunningham’s three alternate entrances during these times.

Please note: Public water access will be unavailable until approximately 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 7 while the IRONMAN swim is taking place.

We appreciate your patience and support as we welcome this premier event to Lake Cunningham and showcase our park and community to athletes and visitors from across the country!

🌳 A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who helped mulch and plant trees throughout the Memorial Forest, the East and West Campgrounds, and Entrance 4! Your hard work helps keep our park beautiful and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.

Ironman 70.3 Omaha Traffic & Access Notice

Lake Cunningham is excited to host IRONMAN 70.3 Omaha on June 6–7, 2026, bringing approximately 2,200 athletes to the park for the swim and bike portions of the event.

Entrance 1 (8965 State Street) will be closed:

A HUGE thank you to QLI and TerraTrike for their incredibly generous donation of a recumbent e-assist bike to support our youth programming at Lake Cunningham! 🚲💚

This amazing addition to our bike fleet will help give kids of all abilities the opportunity to experience the joy of biking, including children who may not yet know how to ride or may not otherwise be able to participate in traditional biking activities.

We are especially grateful for our long-standing partnership with QLI. Over the years, we’ve been proud to support one another in different ways, and it means so much to continue growing that relationship through a shared commitment to our community.
