This primary bedroom needed a facelift.

The space was already updated and had a good foundation, but the mostly neutral palette left it feeling a little…bland. Instead of replacing everything, I wanted to add depth, color, and personality while still keeping it relaxed and appropriate for a beachfront vacation rental.

I landed on 🪴olive green as the accent color and brought it in through the throw pillows, a cozy throw blanket, and greenery throughout the room. It adds just enough contrast to make the room feel more intentional without competing with the Gulf view, keeping in line with the style of the painting (and keeping the art as the focal point when you walk in).

I’m still debating whether this room needs a rug — and I’m curious what you would do? Overall, I’m very happy with it, and it definitely sells better in photos!!

There’s still one design challenge you can see right through the window: that bright blue outdoor furniture. 😂 It’s a pretty strong color, and I don’t want the bedroom to feel disconnected from the beachy blue outside.

So tell me: What would you add, change, or do differently in this bedroom?

I’m always looking for that balance between beautiful design + practical vacation rental design — something guests will love, that photographs well, and that still makes sense for a beachfront condo.

Here’s what I’m starting with before the transformation. This is what I look for when I walk into a vacation rental that needs a bedroom refresh, the elements that will work for potential guests.

This bedroom has a good foundation — but it’s ready for a refresh. 🤍

I’m taking this master bedroom from perfectly fine beach condo to something that feels more intentional, comfortable, and memorable for guests.

For vacation rentals, I’m always thinking about more than just making a room pretty. It needs to photograph well, feel inviting when guests walk in, function comfortably, and fit the overall personality of the property.

This is the before. Wait until you see where we’re taking it.
