A special thank you to Seminole County Commissioner Amy Lockhart for joining us last week at our Seminole County Lodging Leadership Meeting at the Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs!

We greatly appreciate Commissioner Lockhart’s continued partnership with our Seminole County hoteliers, including her strong support for the development of the proposed Indoor Sports Complex.

This transformational project has the potential to strengthen Seminole County as a premier sports tourism destination, generate new economic activity for our local hotels and small businesses, and create an important community asset for all residents.

The Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association is thrilled to recognize Clint Sode of Hilton Grand Vacations Aqua Sol Orlando as CFHLA’s September Lodging Member of the Month!

As a dedicated member of our Security & Safety Council, Clint regularly contributes his time and expertise for the benefit of CFHLA and the broader hospitality industry. A few examples include providing security support during the recent 2026 CFHLA Hospitality Tradeshow, continuing to show up and contribute at CFHLA’s annual signature events, and serving on our CFHLA PAC and participating in our recent candidate interviews.

Furthermore, Clint’s commitment to building relationships, championing CFHLA’s advocacy efforts, his willingness to advance our mission, and and support his fellow hospitality professionals are just one of the many reasons why we are proud to recognize him this month!

This week, the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association was proud to welcome Chris Trout, Founder and Principal of Donlon Consulting, for a special educational session with our CFHLA Leadership Mentoring Program Class V.

Through this engaging and interactive session, Chris challenged our emerging leaders to strengthen their confidence, clarify their professional direction and identity, and broaden their perspectives within the hospitality industry. These meaningful conversations and practical strategies will help prepare this year's program participants as they take the next step in their leadership journeys.

Last week, the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association’s Governmental Affairs Committee convened again for another engaging panel discussion featuring several of Central Florida’s legislative leaders including Senator Jason Brodeur, Nan Cobb for State Representative, District 26, and Representative RaShon Young. The conversation focused on the 2026 Legislative Session and the issues shaping the region’s hospitality and tourism industry. These issues included a wide range of CFHLA priorities including the future of the Tourist Development Tax (TDT), higher education and workforce development, workforce housing, infrastructure needs, and other issues impacting Central Florida’s continued growth.

Additionally, the panel highlighted CFHLA's continued engagement between the hospitality industry and our elected leaders, as we consider significant economic and policy decisions in the future.

We truly appreciate Senator Brodeur, Representative Cobb, and Representative Young for sharing your perspective last week and for engaging directly with our members on the issues that matter most to the regional hospitality community!

Throughout his time with CFHLA, Thomas has been an integral part of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our organization moving forward. From leading our office renovation to managing the financials for four separate organizational entities, Thomas has made an incredible impact on CFHLA.
