When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!

Living and vacationing in Florida means enjoying beautiful sunshine, but it also means being prepared for sudden thunderstorms. During the summer months, thunderstorms can develop quickly, often with little warning.

For your safety, all guests and owners should immediately exit the pool and spa area when thunder is heard or lightning is visible. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity, and being in or near a pool, spa, or wet deck area during a lightning storm can be extremely dangerous.

Remember these important safety tips:

• If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
• Exit the pool and spa immediately at the first sound of thunder or sight of lightning.
• Seek shelter inside the building or another fully enclosed structure.
• Do not remain on the pool deck, beach, or under umbrellas during a thunderstorm.
• Wait at least 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder before returning to the pool or spa.

At Tropic Sun Towers, the safety of our owners and guests is our highest priority. While a passing storm may temporarily interrupt your pool time, taking precautions during thunderstorms can prevent serious injury and help ensure everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing vacation.
