One of our favorite spots is “Whalen Island,” located just north of Pacific City near Tierra Del Mar. The Whalen Island Loop is an easy 1.4 mile hike that’s perfect for little feet and family adventures. The flat scenic trail winds through coastal forest, sandy beaches, and salt marshes with beautiful views of the Sand Lake Estuary.

It’s one of those simple places where kids can explore freely, parents can slow down, and the sweetest memories seem to happen naturally.
