I’m very saddened to share that Camp La-No-Che has lost a much loved staff member who left an incredible mark on our staff family. CarrolAnn loved our camp, and mentored many of our staff with love, energy and passion for the scouting program. She always had kindness to share and feedback to give, because she knew our potential. She was a strong fighter who fought 6 long years with cancer, never letting it get her down or allowing it to keep her from camp or Disney. Her scouting career was extensive and her awards plentiful, but like a true servant leader she didn’t do it for the accolades but for her community and scouting family.

She leaves behind the love of her life Bob Smith her soulmate, her children and grand-children. As final preparations are made and shared we will keep all updated. Please keep Bob and her family in your thoughts and prayers. She will missed and never forgotten.

🚩 From Camp La-No-Che to Philmont!🏔️

This past week, two of Camp La-No-Che’s outstanding team members made the Scouting pilgrimage to the legendary Philmont Training Center to participate in National Camping School. During this intensive week-long program, they expanded their skills in camp operations, facility management, customer service, staff development, leadership, and much more.

👏 We are proud to announce that Mike Kahanca and Todd Hempfield have successfully earned their certification as National Camp School Camp Directors!

They now join the eight Camp La-No-Che staff members who completed National Camping School earlier this year and achieved certification in May, continuing our commitment to providing exceptional camping experiences for Scouts.

In addition, our Director of Camping Services, Mac Griffith, served on the National Camping School faculty, helping instruct the Camp Director and Program Director sections. Through his efforts, eight new camp administration leaders were certified and will help deliver high-quality Scouting programs at camps across the nation in 2027.

🎉 Congratulations to Mike, Todd, Mac, and all of the new National Camp School graduates! Let’s wish them safe travels home, as they prepare to jump right back into the action as we kick off Cub Halloween Weekend 2 at Camp La-No-Che!

With 36 troops already on the Roll Call, Winter Camp 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible gathering of Scouts from across Florida and beyond.

👏 Thank you to every unit that has already made plans to attend! We’re excited to welcome you home for the holidays.
