Well well well.... Statewide aurora chances return as early as tomorrow (Thursday) night as multiple solar storms are forecast to impact earth. A G3 watch is in effect which if realized, would bring the northern lights as far south as central Ohio and Indiana.

Remember, aurora does not follow a time table and is best predicted in real time. If you are new here, we have experienced staff and a network of 100+ cameras we can track viewing in real time. Stay tuned to our page for updates, and let's cross our fingers for clear skies!

Hey Friends!!

Progress is a wonderful thing, and we’re so excited for our little slice of Heaven to be even more beautiful once it’s completed!

As you can see, we have lost our parking in front of The INN, but please use our normal entrances and park out back! We are in the planning stages of building our new parking lot, and will hopefully begin working on that once the road and sidewalk is complete.

The crews out here are working fast and doing a great job of keeping traffic moving.

We will keep our current hours of Thursday-Sunday for the next few weeks, and are planning on being open full-time around Father’s Day!

After digging to a depth of 10 feet outside of Detroit, scientists found traces of a corroded copper wire dating back 120 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Motor City, a Mount Pleasant archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet somewhere near Central Michigan University.

Shortly after, a story in the The Detroit Free Press read, "A CMU archaeologist reported finding a 200 year old copper cable. He has concluded that early settlers in Central Michigan already had an advanced high-tech communications network one hundred years before Detroit.”

One week later, in the Upper Peninsula, the Sault Evening News reported the following: "After digging about 30 feet deep in his pasture near Sault Ste. Marie, Pete Riley, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Riley concluded that 300 years ago, the U.P. already had gone wireless.” (Adapted)

Wow, NOAA SWPC put a G4 -"or greater" aurora watch out for tonight! Normally, this would be one I would drive for to get out of lake effect clouds, but with temps reaching double digits below zero everywhere I'm looking, I think I'll just stay warm in bed😎 Good luck to the brave souls that venture out tonight, and take some serious precautions with the brutal cold!
