If you’re planning to ride or even pet the horses here, there’s a reason every one of them goes through training first-and it’s not the reason most guests guess.
Most people assume it’s about control. Making the horse listen for us.
But it’s backwards. The training is for the horse’s confidence, not ours. A horse that trusts what’s new around it-new hands, new noises-is one that can actually relax into being touched, ridden, led into water. We put them through [specific training activity] so they’ve already met the surprise before a guest shows up with one.
Because the second a horse feels unsure, it’s thinking about getting away. Not your ride.
So when you pet one of ours, or swim out with one, you’re meeting an animal that’s genuinely okay with you being there.
