We’re pleased to let everyone know that our hosts are back in their home! They are currently working to get everything cleaned up as they finally have electricity. It will be a couple of months before they are ready to welcome guests again because they are helping neighbors who lost their homes by providing them temporary lodging. We’ll keep you updated on when Arroyo del Sol will reopen, but it looks like it will be April at the earliest. Our thanks go out to the firefighters, neighbors and friends who helped our hosts through this awful time. Thank you to former guests who have reached out to check on our hosts and offer help.

After the fires, Arroyo del Sol is still standing! Our hosts are still unable to return home because of the condition of the area which has caused access to be restricted by law enforcement. They have communicated with neighbors who did not evacuate and found out that the house is still there. Those neighbors are helping to clear downed trees and debris on the property.

We are so thankful to hear this news as it could have been a far worse outcome. Thanks to the firefighters and the wonderful neighbors who saved this very special property.

I just heard from our hosts and they are fine. They haven’t been able to get back to Arroyo del Sol as the police have the entire area blocked off. So, they don’t know exactly the condition of the property. Thanks to all for the PM’s and emails asking about them. They appreciate the thoughts and concern.

They are currently evacuated and safe, but don’t know the status of their home. They likely won’t know for several days. We are hopeful that they have escaped serious damage.
