SOUTH CAROLINA IS MOVING THIS OCTOBER.
IS YOUR BUSINESS READY FOR THE TRAFFIC?
October has festivals, concerts, food events, arts events, car shows, Oktoberfests and community celebrations across the state. The statewide calendar includes major activity in Kingstree, Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Florence, Columbia and many smaller communities.
1. Oct. 1–4 — October Kickoff: Highlight events in Pawleys Island, Ridgeland, Aiken, Beaufort, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Columbia and other early-month markets.
2. Oct. 8–11 — Festival Traffic Weekend: This should be a major DSMG post. Feature Kingstree Pig Pickin’, Riverfront Revival, Fall for Greenville, Pamplico Cypress Festival, Hardeeville Festival on Main and surrounding events. Kingstree is especially important for DSMG because the official festival dates are October 9–10.
3. Oct. 15–18 — Tourism & Entertainment Weekend: Feature the Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, Pawleys Island events, Florence-area activity, Myrtle Beach events and others. The Wooden Boat Show alone expects more than 100 classic boats along Front Street and includes food, entertainment, shopping and exhibits—exactly the type of visitor traffic nearby businesses can market around.
4. Oct. 23–25 — Fall Business Rush: Highlight Florence, Charleston/North Charleston, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill and other events
5. Oct. 29–31 — Halloween & Festival Finale: Highlight the Olanta Gator Festival and Halloween weekend opportunities. Olanta’s official schedule runs October 29–31, with vendors, food trucks, performances and live music.
