Bos Landen Golf Course

Bos Landen Golf Course The 18-hole championship public course at Bos Landen Golf Club in Pella, Iowa, was designed by well-known architect Dick Phelps. The name speaks for itself.

It has been ranked as Iowa's #1 Public Golf Course from 1997 to 2001 and was also ranked in the Top-75 Most Affordable Golf Digest awarded Bos Landen with its "Four Star Place to Play - 2007." Each hole features 5 sets of tees for players of all skill levels, ranging from 5,100 to 7,000 yards in length. Bos Landen, located just outside of Des Moines, comes from the Dutch language meaning “Land of

the Woods”. The Des Moines golf course sits on 190 heavily wooded acres and features a wide variety of shot making holes. Bos Landen is a great test of skill to all players and the picturesque scenery will have you wanting to come back for more. Being located in central Iowa, one would think the land would be fairly flat with views of the countryside. However, when you arrive at Bos Landen this is not the case with all of the terrain and beautiful views.

Friends of Bos Landen -

This fall we will be continuing the work of upgrading our fairways to center cut bent grass. As you have already seen: holes #1, #4, #6, #7, #8, #9, #13, #14, and #15 have already been completed. This fall we will add holes #2 and #5 to the list and complete the front nine.

Both #2 and #5 have been sprayed with round-up and you will begin to see them change color in the coming days. Do not be alarmed by this, it is the first step in the process.

Thanks to our superintendents Alex Olsen and Luke Pruisner for the great work!

We appreciate the continued support as we work to improve Bos Landen.
