What a delightful evening at The 36th Annual PRism Awards Ceremony, hosted by the PRSA Rochester Chapter and held last night at the Jackrabbit Club. The event celebrated the region's top communications, marketing, and public relations practitioners.

We were there to represent Yates County and the Bed & Breakfast community at the recognition of the Travel Alliance Partnership’s award-winning campaign, “Bed & Breakfast Crawl Showcases Authentic Hospitality in Yates County.”

As innkeepers, we have the privilege of welcoming visitors to our corner of the Finger Lakes every day, so it was especially meaningful to celebrate a campaign that highlighted the warmth, character, and genuine hospitality that make Yates County such a special destination.

Thank you to the very creative and talented team at Travel Alliance Partnership for including us in this memorable celebration, and for all they do to showcase the very best of Yates County. 👏🏻

One of our favorite things about this old Victorian home is how different each room feels as the sunlight moves through it during the day.

Here in the formal parlor, with the lace curtains glowing and the shutters open, it becomes a peaceful spot to sit with coffee before breakfast.

Moments like these are why we love hosting at Trimmer House Bed & Breakfast. ❤️

This pressed-back oak glider rocker was made using an 1888 patent for the “Lowentraut” style glider mechanism, invented by George F. Hall. Unlike traditional rocking chairs that can tilt and creep backward across the floor, Hall’s innovative design allowed the chair to glide smoothly while remaining stationary which was a remarkable idea for its time.

Its carved details were created by hand long before mass production and assembly lines became the norm. The scrollwork, spindles, and carved panels weren’t meant to be temporary furnishings. They were crafted to last for generations.

More than a century later, it still glides here at Trimmer House in the Keuka Room, as a small piece of living history our guests can sit in, enjoy, and become part of for a little while. ❤️

Today we enjoyed a delicious Bourbon Cream French Toast Bake.

Made with Bourbon Cream from the wonderful Barrelhouse 6 Distillery here in the Finger Lakes.

Technically it’s part of breakfast. Emotionally, it feels a little like dessert with questionable decision-making. 🥃

Claw-foot tubs are wonderfully classic, but sit a bit higher than today’s more modern tubs.

We’ve installed Victorian-style grab bars and small step stools to enhance ease of use while staying true to the historic character of the house.

The 2025 guest season officially ended November 17, and we’re so grateful for every guest who chose to stay with us.

It’s always such fun meeting new friends, sharing stories over breakfast, and reminding ourselves of the many benefits of running a traditional B&B. ❤️

Now, it’s the off-season, and it’s ladders up!
