Our hay arrived this morning, 50 cents higher per bale due to the war and increased diesel and fertilizer costs. When I ordered it, i told Brad that some of last year's hay had briars in it. So when he found a patch with briars while he was cutting, he went back and picked every branch out by hand and threw them away, but still didn't bail that spot for me! Sharp briars just stopped the horses from eating because it hurts their noses and lips, but some weeds can cause serious problems and are poisonous, so it's very important to have a reputable hay dealer. Mold in hay can kill horses too. They are very fragile animals.

Liam treated Ava to a ride for her birthday. She learned to post on Buster after having ridden Western as a small child. Hailey and Mariah, who met in kindergarten, came to ride together and rode the mares. Finally we have excellent riding weather. Pasture fields are dry enough to ride safely. The woods still need to dry more.

Deena is a kindergarten teacher. Snack time is part of every experience. She knows how the horses LOVE treats. She usually rides Domino (the biggest ham of the herd), but while he's been off she's been riding Bunny. When she get herself a Dunkin donut this morning she got the horses one too. This was their first introduction to donuts. Ben and Domino were very focused on her and enjoyed them thoroughly. The ground is finally starting to dry out to be safe for riding. Call to schedule.
