A huge thank you to these students from Boyne City Schools who recently came to camp for a day of service! They spent the morning help rake and move leaves in a few key areas around campus. This was incredibly helpful as we prepare for the changing of seasons!

On October 14th, Camp Daggett hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the expansion of the Camp Daggett Adventure Center and addition of a Welcome Center, a $1.53 million project a part of our centennial campaign.

Completed in 2002, the Camp Daggett Adventure Center has not gone through any major facility updates. We have grown our Adventure Education program since the opening of the center, welcoming over 2000 participants in 2025. With this kind of continued growth, including the addition of a Day Camp program in 2024, it became clear that we needed to start thinking about improvements and expansion.

This project will include ADA compliant restrooms, classroom updates, an outdoor dining and activities pavilion, and an addition of a Welcome Center to include centralized staff offices and meeting spaces. Many thanks to our staff, board, key donors and stakeholders, camp supporters, Shoreline Architecture, the Adventure Center and Welcome Center architect company, and Burdco Incorporated, the construction team completing the Adventure Center and Welcome Center project. This project started in late September and will be completed in time for Summer Camp 2027.

Additional aspects of the Centennial Campaign include creating a dedicated scholarship fund for local campers, campus improvements including lodge and cabin enhancements, safety and accessibility improvements, and investing in long term sustainability of the land. We are currently at $4.2 million of the $5 million campaign goal. Do you have questions about our new Camp Aide program for Summer Camp 2027? Join us Wednesday, October 21st for our Camp Aide Info Night. The event will be a Microsoft Teams meeting from 7:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21st. Interested parties should RSVP here: https://podio.com/webforms/30857452/2626520

We will spend the first 30 minutes on a presentation discussing the Camp Aide program and the changes occurring. The second 30 minutes will be focused on answering questions. Spots are filling up fast for Me and My Gal Weekend on November 6–8, 2026! This program is designed for girls ages 5–14 and the important adult female role models in their lives, including moms, grandmas, aunts, older sisters, mentors, and more.

If you aren't sure about spending the full weekend at camp, but you still want to try it out, we have a day pass option! Spend all day Saturday, November 7 at Camp Daggett participating in classic camp activities like adventure education, book bedazzling, and fire building and then depart camp before dinner.

Camp Daggett is pleased to announce that it has received a $2,738.63 donation from Odawa Casino's Spare Change Program, a guest-driven charitable initiative that gives casino patrons an opportunity to support local nonprofit organizations.

The Spare Change Program supports local nonprofits serving communities in Emmet, Cheboygan, and Charlevoix counties. Eligible organizations demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the community through programs that promote education, health, social services, environmental stewardship, inclusion, and community building.

Camp Daggett will use the funds to support its mission of providing meaningful experiences that help young people build confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and connect with the outdoors.

School may be closed for a Professional Development Day on November 4th, but Camp Daggett is open to welcome campers ages 5-12 for a day of fun camp activities! Campers will participate in nature walks, arts and crafts, games and more. This program runs from 7:30AM - 5:30PM on November 4th.

Starting in Summer 2027, Camp Daggett is introducing a new format for 15-year-olds interested in being a Camp Aide. We are excited to share information on what this program will look like, how to apply and associated fees.

The Camp Aide leadership program is the first step to working at Camp Daggett! This two-week long program will consist of three pillars: leadership, service to camp, and camper experience. The Leadership pillar focuses on all the skills that Camp Aides will need to become effective CITs and Counselors. The Service to Camp pillar focuses on the behind-the-scenes aspects of working at Camp. Finally, camp isn't complete without fun! The Camper Experience pillar makes sure that Camp Aides spend part of each day participating in camp activities.

Individuals interested in becoming a Camp Aide will fill out an application and will interview with Camp Daggett Leadership Team members. The two-week Camp Aide leadership program has an associated cost of $650. This covers three meals a day from check-in to check-out, snacks, staff associated with the program, and any special events/weekend fun activities planned for the Camp Aides. Scholarships for the Camp Aide program are available for all applicants, with more details being shared soon.
