Teen's Belle Maison

This beautiful home was built in 1912 by Sulia Gaudet, Sr. for his wife Mary and their growing family. Together they had seven children. The home was built with the virgin cypress from the swamps of Belle River, Louisiana. Sulia worked hard all his life and opened a small grocery store next to his home and from there went on to open a saw mill which was named Gaudet Lumber, Co. The company was run by Sulia, his sons and other family members. Sulia lived until his 90’s, but Mary died not long after giving birth to one of her children. Of his seven children, two of his sons, Gilday and Leland Gaudet, soldiers of World War II, lived in the home their entire lives. Sulia and Mary only had one daughter, Thirsteen , also known as Teen, which the home is now named after. Lots of things have changed along the bayou since then, but one thing is still the same. The beautiful scenery and peacefulness of the swamp. The current owners of the home is the grandson of Sulia and Mary Gaudet, Winston Michel and his wife Audrey. This home is available to rent on a nightly/weekly basis. The home has three bedrooms which each have their own private bathroom and cable television. There is a master bedroom with a queen size bed, and two additional rooms which have two twin size beds each. There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven and microwave.
