Seeking a professional and customer-focused manager for our non-franchise family-owned Motel. In this position, you will carry out day-to-day operations and activities at the location. The motel is currently under renovation and will open its doors for grand opening in the beginning of June. Your duties will include renting out rooms, collecting payments, monitoring budgets, bookkeeping, overseeing other employees, and evaluating hotel performance.
To excel in this role, you must work diligently and professionally to bring the motel to high occupancy and keep maintenance costs low. You must be approachable and detailed-oriented with proven hospitality or management work experience. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Oversee other personnel including receptionists, housekeepers etc.
• Collect payments and maintain records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
• Welcome and register guests once they arrive.
• Resolve issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
• Organize activities and assign responsibilities to employees to ensure productivity.
• Coordinate with external parties including suppliers, and travel agencies.
• Evaluate motel performance and ensure compliance with health and safety rules.
Requirements/Preference:
• Legal working status and fluent in English required.
• Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel management or similar role preferred.
• Willing to do housekeeping and light maintenance.
• Strong understanding of hotel management best practices and data entry software.
• Outstanding interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Exceptional leadership abilities with great attention to detail.
• Able to carry out day to day tasks without much supervision.
