🔎 What is it?

The Homecraft Kitchen Workstation is an adaptive cutting board designed to make food preparation easier and more manageable, especially for people who have the use of only one hand.

Want to increase their independence with everyday cooking tasks.

🍓 Imagine being able to hold a piece of fruit in place while cutting it or secure a bowl while mixing ingredients, without needing someone else to hold it steady!

👀 Who might want to try it?

This workstation may be worth exploring for anyone who wants extra stability and support during food preparation. It could be useful at home, in a supported living environment, or anywhere someone wants to make kitchen activities more accessible and manageable.

🌟 Folding Sliding Tub Bench

Each week, we're highlighting an Assistive Technology (AT) item that you can borrow and try for yourself through our free lending library.

🔎 What is it?
The folding sliding tub bench, is a bench for the tub, that is positioned over the side of the tub, allowing for an individual to sit down outside the tub, and then slide into the tub for a shower.

💡 How might it help?
This device may be helpful for people who:
Cannot step over the side of a tub due to balance issues, or limitations due to injury or recent surgery.
Have a hard time scooting themselves into the tub on a standard tub bench.
Need a place to sit while showering, and need a bit more support than someone who would use a standard tub bench (one that doesn't slide)

👀 Who might want to try it?
Individuals who have suffered a recent injury or are recovering from surgery may benefit from this folding sliding tub bench. Caregivers who assist those with disabilities and find their loved ones are needing more assistance with daily living, including showering, may want to try a folding sliding tub bench.

🤔 Curious if it could work for you?
You don't have to buy it to find out! Borrow it from TRAID to make sure it works for your you before you buy it! Our folding sliding tub benches are available for short term needs - if you've had an injury or are recovering from surgery, you can borrow one from us instead of purchasing one. If you're unsure if this might help someone you care for, try it through our program before getting a permanent addition.

🌟 AT SPOTLIGHT: Time Timer

Each week, we're highlighting an Assistive Technology (AT) item that you can borrow and try for yourself through our free lending library. This week, we're highlighting a simple tool that can help make time easier to see and understand.

🔎 What is it?
The Time Timer is a visual timer that represents the passage of time with a colored disk. As time passes, the disk gets smaller, providing a visual way to see how much time remains.

💡 How might it help?
A visual timer may be helpful for people who:
-Have difficulty understanding the passage of time
-Find transitions between activities challenging
-Benefit from visual supports for staying focused
-Feel more comfortable when they know what to expect
-Need help managing routines and activities
Instead of simply hearing “You have five more minutes,” you can actually see those five minutes passing.

👀 Who might want to try it?
The Time Timer can be useful in many different settings—from home and school to work and community activities. It can be helpful for children and adults alike.

🤔 Curious if it could work for you?
You don't have to buy it to find out!
Our Time Timer is available to borrow for trial through our free AT lending library. Try it as part of your everyday routine and see whether a visual timer makes a difference.
