The Mattatuck Scout Reservation strives to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Established in 1939, Mattatuck Scout Reservation has 500 acres of land and runs both a Scouts BSA resident summer camp and a Cub Scout day camp. Mattatuck Scout Reservation also hosts a variety of seasonal events su

ch as fishing derbies, klondike derbies, and camporees. We are conveniently located off CT Route 8 in Plymouth, CT, just a few miles north of Waterbury. Mattatuck Scout Reservation is part of Connecticut Rivers Council and is supported by the Camp Mattatuck Volunteers.

The Countdown to Summer is ON! Our Final Volunteer Work Day is June 13th!

Summer camp season is just weeks away, and we need your hands to get the Mattatuck Scout Reservation in tip-top shape for our youth! As shown in the flyer, next Saturday, June 13th, is our last official Volunteer Work Day before the 2026 camp season officially kicks off.

Whether you’ve been supporting camp for decades or are looking to help out for the first time, this day is the perfect opportunity to give back and join our community in action.

The Day's Schedule

• 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Camp Workday Projects (helping with physical improvements around the property—plus, lunch is provided!)

• 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Open Program (relax and enjoy the beautiful reservation)

• 5:00 PM: Surf and Turf Dinner 🥩🦞 & Volunteers Meeting

Come for the Work, Stay for the Fellowship!

This day is about more than just hammers and paintbrushes it’s about the incredible fellowship that keeps the Mattatuck spirit alive. Once the tools are put away, we’ll gather at 5:00 PM for a complimentary, delicious Surf and Turf dinner.

During dinner, we will hold our Volunteers Meeting to connect, talk about our upcoming camp programs, and align on how we can best support the staff, property, and Scouting America this summer.

While the day and the meals are completely free, registration is required so our kitchen team can get an accurate headcount for the Surf and Turf dinner!

A massive shout-out and a heartfelt THANK YOU to the incredible team from Pullman & Comley, LLC!

We were thrilled to welcome their talented lawyers and dedicated staff out to the Mattatuck Scout Reservation for a phenomenal day of service. Instead of briefing cases, they were lifting rakes, installing fences, cleaning and helping us get the reservation in tip-top shape for our upcoming camping season.

Thank you, Pullman & Comley, for investing your time into our community and making a lasting difference in the lives of our campers.

Next weekend, June 5th - 7th, Mattatuck will be playing host to Tschitani Lodge for their late spring Lodge Induction Weekend! If you were elected from your unit on or after December 6, 2024, you are eligible to join Scouting's National Honor Society at this event. Additionally, if you completed your Ordeal on or before December 6, 2025, you are eligible to seal your membership in the Order of the Arrow by becoming a Brotherhood member. There will be a barbecue dinner with ice cream sundaes, a great day of meaningful service, and loads of fun.

Please encourage the attendance of those you know who are eligible to join the Order! If you're a member, we'd love to see you as well!

CALLING ALL CAMPERS, LEADERS, AND VOLUNTEERS!

We have an immediate need, and we’re looking to our community for some FLASH HELP this weekend! We have a very important, condensed afternoon of work planned for this Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We need all available hands for a series of small, critical projects, including painting, mulching, platform repair, and winter clean-up.

We are busy, so we’ve packed a lot of impact into just 4 hours. Lunch isn't provided, but we will have snacks! Your Troop, Pack, or individuals can join us to support camp!

Adventure is in the air at Mattatuck!

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting the awesome students from Pomperaug High School’s Adventure PE class! They traded the traditional gym class for the great outdoors and absolutely crushed it.

Our visitors spent the day tackling new challenges and mastering skills across camp participating in Climbing, Archery, fishing, and Boating.

Thank you to the PHS staff and students for bringing such great energy to camp. We love partnering with our local schools to help students step out of their comfort zones and experience the outdoors!

The weather is looking absolutely perfect for Saturday morning, so grab your gear and come spend the morning with us at Mattatuck Scout Reservation! ☀️ Camp is ready, the fish are waiting, and it’s going to be a fantastic day outdoors.
