The Mattatuck Scout Reservation strives to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Established in 1939, Mattatuck Scout Reservation has 500 acres of land and runs both a Scouts BSA resident summer camp and a Cub Scout day camp. Mattatuck Scout Reservation also hosts a variety of seasonal events such as fishing derbies, klondike derbies, and camporees. We are conveniently located off CT Route 8 in Plymouth, CT, just a few miles north of Waterbury. Mattatuck Scout Reservation is part of Connecticut Rivers Council and is supported by the Camp Mattatuck Volunteers.

Congratulations to the 2026 Mission Brown Unit Service Award recipient, Troop 75, Terryville!

This award celebrates Scout units that go above and beyond in their service to Mattatuck. Like the reliable and recognizable “Mission Brown” paint that has long decorated our camp, Troop 75 has demonstrated that same steadfast commitment through their reliability, hard work, and dedication to keeping Mattatuck strong for generations to come.

What an incredible turnout for Emergency Day!

Over 150 Scouts and Scouters joined us for an action-packed, hands-on day of learning and preparedness. From watching the LIFE STAR helicopter make a landing right on the field to getting up close with a rescue airboat, a Connecticut Forest Fire Service truck, and a Plymouth Volunteer Ambulance Corps unit, our Scouts learned what it takes to answer the call!

We even had a special visit from a correctional dog demo and learned about the key goals of emergency management. While earn up to 4 merit badges.

A huge thank you to all the emergency responders, volunteers, and leaders who made this event such a fantastic success!

On behalf of the Mattatuck Volunteers, we are pleased to share that the 2026 recipient of the Point Award is Chris Moon!

The Point Award is given to the individual who best represents the commitment and service needed to achieve our polestar - our point. This individual demonstrates through their work that the point is to sustain a movement - Scouting - through which young people learn to be the best versions of themselves and become the leaders of tomorrow. This person embodies the dedication needed to make Mattatuck the epicenter of that movement.

What a fantastic time at Camp Mattatuck! From Friday night campfires under the stars to a packed Saturday morning around the pond, The CRC lets go fishing event was a resounding success!

It was great to seeing so many Cubs and Families enjoying the outdoors. The morning kicked off with a delicious pancake breakfast, setting the tone for a morning of reel fun, big smiles, and plenty of great catches.

Adventure Awaits! Pomperaug Adventure PE at Mattatuck

Today was an extraordinary day as Mattatuck had the privilege of hosting the Adventure PE classes from Pomperaug High School! It was a fantastic opportunity for these students to step out of the classroom and put the skills they've been learning into real world action.
From scaling the climbing wall to navigating the waters in kayaks and canoes, these students embraced every challenge!
