Every summer we get riders who roll in around dinnertime, dusty from the road, and don't say much until they've had a shower and a minute to sit still. Last week it was four bikes parked in a row by the aqua doors, saddlebags still packed, engines ticking as they cooled.

By morning they were leaned up against the courtyard fence with coffee, in no hurry to leave. That is kind of the whole point of this place.

There's a moment right after check-in when our guests can slow down.

They set their bag down. They walk to the window. They look out at the mountains. And then they say something like, "oh, okay." Or, "this is the place." Or nothing at all.
