We are closely monitoring the forecasted storm path of Hurricane Beryl.

Whether or not the storm makes direct landfall in South Texas, the impacts of the storm will be felt along the region’s coastline, including here at the national seashore. Even a distant hurricane can have significant impacts on low-lying coastlines.

If you are traveling to the park for the holiday weekend, come prepared! Have a way to listen to updated weather forecasts, carry extra food, water, and fuel, and be prepared to pack up and leave the park at a moment’s notice.

⚠️ Camping on the beach in the park is not recommended for this weekend. Tropical storm force winds are currently forecasted to arrive to the area on Saturday (7/6/24). The National Park Service will continue to make decisions for park operations as weather forecasts change. Beach closures could occur without warning as early as Friday (7/5/24). ⚠️
