As a follow up to Hurricane Isaias that came through on Friday, Pineapple Plantation did not suffer any damage. The wonderful folks at Coastline were out early the next morning once everything was safe to check on all the properties that they manage.
While Cape San Blas Rd was closed during the hurricane due to over wash of the road, access to the Cape was quickly restored. We never lost power, and I’m very pleased to confirm that our recently installed Starlink service also came through everything without interruption.
The Cape itself did suffer a lot more damage this time as compared to the hurricanes that have come through in the past 5 years. There are quite a few videos out there in the various Cape San Blas Facebook groups. It’s been my limited experience that it takes at least several weeks (or more) to gauge the full impact on the beaches after major storms, once the surf and the tides have had a chance to settle down.
I’m also including a few screenshots of the FL511 camera on Cape San Blas Rd at The Rocks showing the over wash that was occurring Friday night, as well as screenshots that I took yesterday once the road was reopened.
Thanks again for all your many prayers and well wishes!!
