Happy Spook Season… 🧡 Love Fortland

We didn’t intend on setting up our beloved 12-foot skeleton this season, but then we heard that our friends at Lucky Catch and Portland Explorer Tours really missed seeing him from their waterfront tours. So, we HAD to do something 💀

Here’s a look at this year’s Fort Scammel Skelly… just in time for Halloween 🎃

Come check it out for yourself! Every Fortland stay includes access to the depths of historic Fort Scammel, for those willing to explore. We offer self-guided exploration as well as guided walkthroughs with our staff!

We truly wouldn’t be ‘Fortland’ without the ‘Fort’!

Interested in a longer tour & a shorter island visit? Portland Explorer Tours operates a 90-minute Fort Tour (which includes round-trip boat transportation) that can’t be missed! (And Fortland guests who stay 2+ nights often have the opportunity to tag along too!)

It took a second… but we’re officially OPEN for our 2026 season! ⛺️🌊🚤

Our yurts and tent cabins have been transformed from off-season storage to beautifully-furnished spaces for guests to unwind after island adventures.

📆 Book a stay at the link in our bio! We’re open Thursday - Sunday* nights through the second week of October.

*For the first time, we’ll be open 7 days a week in mid-July through August!
