There's a version of fall that only happens in North Idaho. 🍂 R***e season at dawn, steelhead on the line, and small towns lighting up for the season.
This time of year here is a whole menu:
🎯 Fall hunting season is in full swing across the region, from whitetail to upland birds
🎣 The rivers are holding steelhead, and the fall fishing bite is worth the early alarm
🥾 The trails that were packed in July? All yours now, with golden larches and no crowds
🏞️ The water toys still have a place, but honestly the quiet creeks and lakes are the real show in October and Novemeber.
The towns show up too:
🎃 Kelloween takes over Uptown Kellogg on October 31 with trunk-or-treat, a pie-eating contest, and a 5K run
🛍️ Osburn Craft Fair, November 7–8, for handmade gifts and small-town charm
🏃 The Wallace Turkey Trot and community Thanksgiving dinner on November 26
🎄 Silver Mountain's Christmas Tree Lighting in Gondola Village on November 28, and the Warren Miller film "Days Off" screens November 27–28
