THE BUNKHOUSE - was originally built as a full functioning residence for a family member in 2009, and designed for persons with disabilities. As such, it has several features not normally found in a standard apartment.

The house is ADA accessible and easy to maintain. All doors are 3’-0” and all areas are wheelchair accessible, including the shower.

This house also has plenty of windows and skylights to let in natural light. Of course, all windows and glass doors have curtains or shades for privacy. A high capacity HVAC unit easily handles the heating and cooling needs regardless of outside temperature extremes. Water is obtained from a well and is not only safe to drink, but tastes good too.
Unlimited hot water is provided by a tankless, on demand hot water heater. Century Link DSL, and a wireless router provide Wi-Fi service. Basic satellite television service is provided through DirecTV, and the unit comes with DVR for recording favorite shows.

The residence and lodging house rely entirely on electricity to run its systems. Although very rare, power outages can occur. Should that occur for an extended period of time, the Bunkhouse is equipped with a wood-burning stove for heat in the winter, and generator for limited electric power to operate essential systems.

What is a ‘lodging house?’
It’s not a hotel, and it’s not an apartment. It’s essentially like a boarding house, without the food service. The house is fully furnished and affords all the comforts of home. Houseguests are responsible for providing for their own food and other consumables.

Although the lodging house is physically attached to the main residence, it is essentially a completely separate residence. Lodging guests can be assured that their privacy will be maintained.

EXPECTATIONS

What you can expect from us –

The interaction between us will be respectful and cordial. We will strive to accommodate your needs, and you will be expected to respect our common sense requirements for maintaining a peaceful residence.
We will strive to limit intrusions. Quiet hours are between 9pm-9am unless otherwise arranged (all residents and guests), and there will be no ‘no notice’ entries unless a bonafide emergency exists. The surrounding area will be maintained, and kept clean. We have a dog, some cats, and a wandering rooster. So you can expect to be greeted by them from time to time.

What we expect from guests-

We expect our lodge and all furnishings to be well treated. Please inform us if something needs to be repaired. You will be financially responsible for damages not associated with normal wear and tear.
