Howards End Guest House

Howards End Guest House Howards End is situated in the very heart of Provincetown, but far enough from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a good nights rest.

In addition, we are just steps away from the ferry, bus depot and town beaches. Howards End's intimate size makes it ideally suited for both couples and singles. Guest rooms are cheerful, comfortable and airy, and we offer a choice of Queen, full or twin sized beds, with private, semi-private or shared baths. The house, built in 1840, was the residence of the whaling Captain Ezra Cook. In the late

1920's through the 1940's it was the retreat of American composer Cole Porter. In 1946 it was converted into a guest house by the artist Peter Hand, and it is one of Provincetown's oldest continuously operating Bed & Breakfasts. The business was named "5 Winslow Street" until 1997. Then Howard Weiner bought the house and renamed it to "Howards End Guest House". Unfortunately Howard passed away in October 2015. Now his partner Yi Zhao is the manager of the house.
