Good morning!

Here's an update on where things are currently. The river has receded considerably since peaking overnight Saturday into Sunday. For the most part, the river is in its banks. The week and next weekend look great for drying things out and getting set back up. I will be assessing and cleaning up areas impacted. We'll just need to be very careful to stay out of grassy areas for a bit yet.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for everyone who was here to help me and each other out. It continues to speak volumes about the character of this community. Special thanks to Randy, Rex and Steve for getting campers and carts out of harms way.

I will continue to update regarding the state of things as the week progresses.

Everyone, please stay weather aware at this point. There seems to be uncertainty about where the heaviest rain will fall today and tonight, but with elevated levels already, I'm not for sure how fast things will change.

Update:

The river really hasn't wavered that much in the last 24 hours. It may have come up 2" all day yesterday but probably hasn't receded more than 4"-5". There's been a big drop in the Sidney gauge and I'm hoping we'll see some decent recession over the next 24 to 36 hours. I don't think we're necessarily out of the woods yet since the entire area is under a level 1 (out of 4, so pretty low) risk for "Excessive Rainfall Outlook" Friday night into Saturday morning. At the present time, the models seem like the big totals are going to stay south and east of us but we'll just have to keep our eye on things and react accordingly.

I certainly wish the holiday weekend forecast was a better outlook but maybe things will shift and we'll have a beautiful (and cool-ish) weekend fit for hot fires. 🤞

Update:

1.4" of rain fell overnight and into the morning. The river is up and continues to slowly rise. We are still inside the banks with a little room to spare in the lowest points. I don't expect too much impact from today's nagging rain but it does seem that there could be occasional heavier, short lived pockets. While it seems on the chart that the rise level is slowing in Sidney, historically it takes several hours to peak here post Sidney's peak.

If anything changes, I will post a new update here.

Hey everyone! Please stay weather aware over the next 3 to 5 days. There could be some opportunity for heavy rainfall which could present flooding concerns. We got a total of 1" with the rain last night which brought the river 4-6 inches. As always I will try to update here on the state of things.

** 2026 Camp Season **

Hey Everyone!! Welcome back for the 2026 camp season!! Our water samples have cleared and lines are charged.

Rick had some tree work done on the grounds and we are slowly getting things cleaned up in camp. If there is damage to your site, please let me know so that it can be fixed. If there is any tree debris that is impacting your site, let me know that as well. I am prioritizing work based upon what I believe are the most important spots.

The bathrooms will remain closed until I'm sure that we are past the cold nights to minimize any potential impact/damage.

Cheers to a great year!!

Update #2: Power has been restored.

Update: No ETA. There are 2 issues requiring 2 crews (tree and transformer).

There is currently a power outage affecting the west end of camp and the pump house (water). AES is aware of it and will dispatch a crew. A tree has taken down a line.

Hey everyone! A few messages...

This Saturday we’re firing up the fryers for our annual 50/50-funded Chicken Wing & French Fry Cook! 🍗🍟

Just like last year, it’ll be to-go style — wings will be pre-boxed and ready on a table under the canopy. We’re planning to have the first batches ready around 11:30 a.m., starting a little earlier this year since the Buckeye game kicks off at noon.

If you haven’t joined in the 50/50s this year, no worries — just consider tossing in a donation if you’d like to grab some wings.

Also, as the season starts to wind down, we just want to remind our seasonal camper lots to put down your deposit before heading out for the year. This locks in your spot for next season and makes the spring setup a whole lot smoother for everyone!

See you Saturday!
