Planning for next year's wedding or event? Popular dates can require advance coordination, especially when the celebration involves a private property, a detailed installation, or a full range of event rentals. Starting early gives you more time to make thoughtful decisions.

No two properties are exactly alike, and the same is true for tented events. A setup that works beautifully at one location may not be appropriate for another. Site conditions and event needs should guide the planning from the beginning.

A memorable event often feels effortless to the guests, even though a great deal of planning happened before they arrived. Careful coordination of the tent, rentals, site, and event details helps create that seamless experience.

We have been working in Vermont since 1986. Four decades of local experience means understanding that a Vermont event is rarely just a tent dropped onto a flat lawn. The property, weather, vendors, access, and infrastructure all matter.

A tent can be elegant, but it also has to be engineered for the property. Rain or Shine's site assessments look at terrain, ground conditions, delivery access, nearby structures, and permitting considerations before the final plan is made.

A wedding venue does not always come with everything you need. Sometimes the venue provides the setting while the rental team builds the temporary infrastructure around it. That can include the tent, floor, lighting, power, furniture, and catering equipment.

What does a wedding look like when the venue is a private home? The possibilities can be incredible. We have worked on private-property events where the tent, floor, lighting, and catering infrastructure effectively create a temporary venue from the ground up.

Pole tents have a very different personality from clear span structures. Their high centre peaks and support poles become part of the visual design, creating an open, classic atmosphere that works beautifully for certain venues and layouts.

October is a perfect month to talk about the difference between a sailcloth tent and a clear span tent. One offers soft, romantic peaks and diffused light. The other provides a completely open interior and the possibility of a clear roof. Neither is universally better. The property and the event should decide.

A wedding tent does not have to look like a rental tent. Thoughtful furniture, flooring, lighting, glassware, tabletop pieces, and custom-built elements can make the space feel completely intentional. The tent is simply the starting point.
