A friend of ours has opened a fantastic wedding/reception/event space on Clam Lk just the east shore of Torch Lake. Check out their page and throw them a like if you'd be so kind.

Odd Fellow Events: A Legacy on the Water
Nestled on the shores of Clam Lake in Bellaire, Michigan, Odd Fellow is more than just a venue—it’s a tribute to history, a celebration of community, and a place where unforgettable moments unfold.

Our event space is named after the historic steamship Odd Fellow, a vessel that once navigated the waterways of Northern Michigan, playing a vital role in the region’s transportation and commerce. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, steamships like Odd Fellow (later renamed Mabel) were the lifeline of the Great Lakes, ferrying passengers, cargo, and supplies between communities before roads and railways fully connected the area. These ships were symbols of progress, resilience, and connection—values we embrace in our modern-day event space.

At Odd Fellow, we honor that legacy by providing a venue that brings people together in a timeless setting. With breathtaking waterfront views, elegant yet rustic charm, and a deep connection to the history of Michigan’s waterways, our space is designed to host weddings, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations that leave a lasting impression.

Whether you’re exchanging vows as the sun sets over the lake or hosting an event steeped in tradition, Odd Fellow offers a unique blend of history and elegance—ensuring that every occasion is as remarkable as the stories of the steamships that once graced these waters.

Our Inspiration
The Odd Fellow steamship was more than just a boat; it was a community hub, a mode of adventure, and a piece of Michigan’s maritime history. By naming our venue in its honor, we pay homage to the pioneering spirit of the past while creating a space for new stories to be written.

Come experience the legacy. Come create your own history. Welcome to Odd Fellow.

New food option coming to the sandbar šŸ¤˜šŸ™Œ

Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer Thompson and I’m excited to introduce myself as the owner of Bayou Barge, the newest food boat coming to the Torch Lake Sandbar this spring and summer!

For the last 22 years, I’ve lived and raised my family in Northern Michigan, falling in love with the incredible nature that surrounds us. One of the greatest blessings of living here is the abundance of freshwater, not just for its beauty but for the endless recreation it provides. There’s nothing quite like a Michigan summer on the lake, and I’m thrilled to add a little extra flavor to it this year!

The name Bayou Barge comes from my southern roots, and when you stop by for a bite, you’ll be sure to taste a little of that Southern-inspired goodness in the food. We’ve got something for all ages from grilled cheese and snacks for the littles to juicy burgers and shrimp skewers for the biggers. And on those hot, sunny Northern Michigan days, we’ve got you covered with ice cream cones and popsicles!

Need ice? We’ll have bags of ice available for purchase so you can keep your drinks cold for those long days on the lake.

So whether you’re boating or just walking right out to the sandbar, stop by, grab a bite, and enjoy some Southern charm with a smile. I can’t wait to meet you all and share the best of summer with you on The Bayou Barge!

Like, follow, share, and spread the word! See y’all on the water!
