RWCS member Ron Linde spent a great deal of time interviewing Charles Murphy, a Red Wing designer for 19 years. In one of the interviews he mentioned to Ron that in the 1940's Red Wing Potteries considered producing decorative tiles. Murphy designed this hand painted example with a Harvest motif like the dinnerware line of the same name, but tile never became a production item at Red Wing Potteries.

Charles Murphy plate designed as a 1939 New York World's Fair souvenir. The rim is divided into 5 segments by fair symbols with 5 exhibition halls depicted. Clockwise they are Federal Government Building, Marine Transportation Building, Hall of Communications, Food Exhibitors Building, & the Building of Contemporary Arts.
