The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has officially released the 2024 trout stocking schedules, now accessible to anglers and enthusiasts online and through the FishBoatPA mobile application. This year’s operation plans to distribute approximately 3.2 million adult trout across 697 streams and 129 lakes that are open for public fishing, marking a significant effort to enhance recreational angling across the state.

The stocking activities are scheduled to commence the week of February 19, leading up to the statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day on March 30 and the official opening of the trout fishing season on April 6. These preparatory measures ensure that bodies of water are adequately populated with trout, providing ample fishing opportunities for both experienced anglers and novices participating in youth mentorship programs. Fishing licenses required!
