Reflecting on the past 10 years..
I remember when we bought this place, we were laughed at. We were told not to buy it by many. I shrugged it off and I am glad I did.
In the beginning, business struggled a bit but I was determined to make this place the best its ever been.
As time progressed that struggle quickly disappeared as I saw a need for expansion as we were growing exponentially and turning away many due to a lack of space.
Next thing I know, Covid hits, and I find myself overlooking beautiful Leech Lake at a land auction held by Cass County as I am wearing a facemask bidding! Because of that auction, I now own a 114 acres of land that was purchased to build the best campground I could with a very tight budget! So I did! What an amazing journey this has been.
Fast forward to today.. We are still growing. We are also a "go to" destination for many others as well! We have folks who have been trying for years to get in here with no luck. What a difference a few short years can make. We understand that schedules dont always align. The best advice I can give you on that subject is to book early.
I am amazed at the support everyone has shown and its because of you all that we give you the best we can. We love what we do and we said it early on with our business motto. "Come as guests, leave as friends " We mean that. We have met so many great people over the years we wouldn't change a thing.
Looking back, going from being laughed at to just recently doing a giveaway where 450 tickets were filled out for a free 2 day stay at a 1 day event to boot! That was very humbling to be completely honest. Thank you all for the love!
So from those rough beginnings to now having people trying 2 sometimes 3 years to get in here, I am completely blown away by the support, all I can say is thank you all for giving the little guy a chance in a big box world. Our rooms are $100.00 +- cheaper per night than big box hotels and rather than the industry standard 20 minutes for housekeeping to clean a room, we give an hour or more if necessary! I want to make sure your rooms are super clean and your campsites are well kept!
Now versus then..
Now, we have clients who come here from all over the USA and even into Canada. Business has exploded since we began this journey. Thank you all for the amazing support. We are forever grateful ❤️
