One last appearance on the greens from some of our favorite locals. 🐻⛳
From bear cubs playing with the flagstick to geese wandering the fairways and coyotes making their rounds, our wildlife neighbors made the final days of golf season memorable.
Caring for the land and wildlife that make Edgewood Tahoe special is part of our commitment to sustainability. Through our Stay Beyond Green membership, we continue to prioritize practices that protect the surrounding environment. Water from the course flows through our pond, stream, and wetlands, where sediment and nutrients settle before the water returns to Lake Tahoe, helping support a healthy habitat for the wildlife that calls this place home.
The course may be resting for winter, but our wildlife neighbors are still making themselves at home.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the greens next spring.

Some heroes wear badges, while others have four paws. On November 6, 10 Torr Distilling & Brewing honors Northern Nevada’s hardworking K9 teams with a special wh***ey release that gives back.

Meet Wh***ey Business, Featuring Retired K9 Ava

On November 6, 10 Torr will release Wh***ey Business, featuring retired Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Ava on its label. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. at the 10 Torr tasting room, 490 Mill Street in Reno.

Following last year’s Rum With the Big Dogs, featuring K9 Jett, this year’s release continues the company’s commitment to supporting local law enforcement K9 teams.

Giving Back to Those Who Serve

For every bottle sold, 10 Torr will donate $5 to Washoe County K9 Partners, helping fund training, equipment and medical care for K9 teams with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Reno Police Department.

What happens when two chefs from very different culinary traditions meet around a shared fascination with cooking over fire?

For one night only, Chef Earth (Saritwat Wanvichitkun) and Pastry Chef Pond (Chayanin Tanapradit) of Bangkok’s Saawaan are coming to Lake Tahoe for a special collaboration with Chef Koji Hanada and Pastry Chef/Culinary Director Matt Tinder of Smoke Door Lake Tahoe. Saawaan is one of Bangkok’s acclaimed contemporary Thai restaurants, having held a Michelin star for four consecutive years. Its tasting menu explores regional Thai flavors through techniques including fermenting, steaming, boiling and charcoal grilling. Chef Earth, a Phuket native trained in both French and Thai cooking, leads the savory kitchen, while Chef Pond brings a pastry approach that combines classical technique with Thai ingredients and flavors.

Recently, Earth has become increasingly interested in wood-fire cooking and the possibilities it opens up, making Smoke Door - and its fire-driven kitchen in the mountains - a particularly interesting place for this collaboration.

Rather than creating a conventional fusion menu, the chefs will cook side by side across eight courses, alternating between Saawaan and Smoke Door. The dinner becomes a conversation between two distinct perspectives: Earth’s modern interpretation of Thai cuisine and Koji’s contemporary Japanese cooking, connected by a shared curiosity about fire.

It’s an especially natural meeting point for Koji, who spent four years at Tokyo’s two-Michelin-starred Den before joining the opening team of wood-fired Jiu, where working with live fire and seasonal Japanese ingredients became central to his cooking.

Pastry will have its own dialogue as well. Chef Pond will collaborate alongside Matt Tinder, whose career has included leading pastry programs at The Restaurant at Meadowood, Saison and Coi, as well as earning a James Beard Award semifinalist nomination for Outstanding Baker for his bakery, Saboteur.
