Richlands Lodge No. 318 was chartered on February 16, 1911. The charter Worshipful Master was Wor. At the time of the charter there were thirty-five members. Our Lodge building is located at the intersection of Kents Ridge Road and Henderson Street in Richlands, Virginia, is a ground floor building, which makes it ideal for any Brother who has difficulty walking stairs. It has been mentioned from
time to time that Richlands Lodge came about because of the deactivation of Adams Lodge No. 257 at Whitewood, Virginia, which was chartered on February 9, 1916 and became inactive in December 1927. Recent research courtesy of the Grand Lodge of Virginia does not find this to be true, although some members of Adams Lodge did later become members of Richlands Lodge. Our lodge building is home to two of the six masonic lodges in the 45th Masonic District in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Since 2011 we have shared our building with Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge #260 A.F. and A.M. Also, since 1927 we have shared our lodge building with the members of Richlands Chapter #104, Order of the Eastern Star. We welcome any gentleman who desires to join the degrees of freemasonry. All of the specifications can be found on the Grand Lodge of Virginia Website at http://www.grandlodgeofvirginia.org/membership/index.htm
Any brother who can contribute further to the history of our lodge, please feel free to do so. I would like to develop an accurate detail for the history of our century old lodge.
