Ever come home from a vacation feeling like you checked every box but barely had time to enjoy where you were?

We often help clients work through the temptation to squeeze too much into a short trip, especially on a first visit. Every stop sounds worthwhile, but the time spent rushing between them can take away from the experience.

Our latest blog explores why a little breathing room can make a trip more rewarding: time to linger over lunch, explore a neighborhood, or stay longer somewhere you love.

So you are dining in 1923, one of the nice dining venues on the Disney Destiny, and you wonder “what’s on the kids menu?” Well here it is! What speaks to your inner kid? I want the Mickey Ice Cream Bar!

Today is day three of our five-night cruise on the Disney Destiny, and I’ve been thinking about a question I hear often: What is a Disney cruise like when you’re traveling without kids?

Those of you who know me know my kids are grown, and I don’t have grandchildren. I’m here because I wanted to experience the ship for myself. Three days in, there’s a lot to like.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how many spaces are designed for adults. The Rose, the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the Sanctum, Quiet Cove, and dining at Palo or Enchanté and several other spots like DeVil’s (Hi Cruella!) and The Cask and Cannon give you plenty of ways to step away and enjoy a calmer pace.

At the same time, the kid in me still gets a kick out of seeing favorite Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney characters around the ship. That’s the balance I’ve enjoyed most: I can lean into the fun, then find a quiet, kid-free spot when I’m ready to recharge.

Would I choose a Disney cruise for every vacation? Probably not. But that’s one of my favorite things about cruising. There’s a ship and an experience for different moods and different trips. Sometimes you want to let your inner child take the lead. Other times, you want something more refined. I’m glad I came aboard to see what this one feels like for an adult.

Eight guests. Four cabins. Your own private yacht in the British Virgin Islands.

What changes when you move from a $35,000 charter to $61,000 or $100,000? Here’s a look at three ways to spend a week on the water with We Book Travel.

WH***EY SUNSET | $35,000 per week

A 55-foot sailing catamaran with two crew members and four queen cabins, each with a private bathroom.

Enjoy chef-prepared meals, a stocked bar, paddleboards, underwater scooters, and Starlink Wi-Fi. The published inclusive rate covers meals, beverages including alcohol, fuel, mooring fees, and BVI cruising permits and taxes.

Split equally among four couples: $8,750 per couple, before gratuity and travel expenses.

SAPPHIRE | $61,000 per week

A 67-foot sailing catamaran with three crew members, a king master suite, and three queen cabins with private bathrooms.

The upgrade brings more room to spread out, a bow Jacuzzi, a spacious flybridge with a bar, and water toys including a SeaBob and eFoil. A dedicated captain, chef, and steward/deckhand look after your group.

Split equally among four couples: $15,250 per couple, before gratuity and travel expenses.

NANA MARIE | $100,000 per week

An 80-foot catamaran with four crew members and four king cabins with private bathrooms.

Think generous outdoor living spaces, a large flybridge, fold-down balconies over the water, and a crew that includes a captain, chef, stewardess, and first mate. A beautiful setting for a milestone birthday, anniversary, or family celebration.

Split equally among four couples: $25,000 per couple, before gratuity and travel expenses.

All three offer a private, crewed experience for your group. The differences come down to space, cabin arrangements, amenities, and onboard staffing.
